21Vianet (VNET)  – Chinese news via Sina Finance raises serious concerns

At around 5AM this morning, there was a piece published in the Chinese news via Sina Finance that raises serious concerns about 21Vianet’s (NASDAQ:VNET) ability to bring in new capital. The report states that a$175M debt financing deal overseas has now been temporarily suspended due to the recent fraud allegations made by Trinity Research.

We believe this to be serious news, as 21Vianet doesn’t have significant internal cash flow and relies instead on these types of financings to bring in new cash. As this news has only been reported in Chinese media, we wanted to shed light on this for U.S. investors.

新浪科技讯 北京时间9月18日下午消息，汤森路透旗下银行贷款资讯数据供应商Basis Point基点报道，据直接知情的银行消息人士称，纳斯达克 上市的世纪互联 最高达1.75亿美元的境外贷款案已暂时搁置，因此前做空研究机构指控该公司存在可疑的商业行为。

新成立的研究机构Trinity Research Group本周三发布了有关世纪互联的第二份研究报告，称该公司涉嫌内部交易，这令其管理层的公信度受到质疑。

据消息人士称，世纪互联目前预计将与有意参贷的银行召开会议。

消息人士表示，在Trinity于9月10日发布首份做空报告后，部分银行暂时搁置了对该交易的内部信贷审批流程。Trinity报告指出，世纪互联财务造假、虚报业务情况，并利用融资和收购æ¥è™šæŠ¥å¢žé•¿ã€‚

消息称，该笔贷款在Trinity发布首份报告前已经收获若干参贷承诺。该笔贷款在8月中旬进入一般联贷阶段。

世纪互联本周一表示，Trinity首份报告中包括很多错误和没有证据的臆测。
