Philosophy

L&L’s team consists of experienced professionals who utilize their extensive knowledge in U.S. accounting practices, M&A techniques, and bilingual skills to focus on high margin coal operations in the People’s Republic of China.

Today, L&L is improving mining standards and adding environmentally friendly green elements to make the company even more competitive. L&L has established three Independent Committees of its Board of Directors, in preparation for its application to a senior exchange. Working with its global partners and arbitrage on China’s coal pricing advantage, L&L is positioned to grow

L&L is committed to conducting its operations in a responsible and sustainable manner. Basing its environmental strategies upon scientific studies, established and emerging industry best practices, regulatory guidelines, as well as its own extensive operational experience, L&L strives to ensure its mining practices are sustainable both in terms of overall impact as well as supporting the long term energy needs of its markets.

Dickson Lee

Dickson V. Lee, Chairman and CEO
Mr. Lee founded the company in 1995. He has extensive management experience with NYNEX (now Verizon), KPMG and other US companies in New York.  Mr. Lee was a New York CPA in 1983 and now is a Washington State CPA. Dickson, fluent in both Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, served as a judicial member of the Hong Kong SEC Insider Dealing Tribunal (a trial court) for six years. He earned an MBA from Dalhousie University and travels frequently between US and China.

   
Clayton Fong

Clayton Fong, VP - US Operation
Clayton Fong has served at senior levels in the White House and the California Governors Office. He served President George HW Bush as Deputy Assistant to the President for Public Liaison,  Deputy Director of the US Office of Consumer Affairs and Deputy Associate Director of Presidential Personnel. He was also the CEO of an organization with a payroll of over 1000 in 11 offices nationwide. Mr. Fong has experience in management, human resources, marketing, government affairs and international business.

   
Tony H Y Li

Tony H Y Li, CEO, KMC Energy Operations
Mr. Li was the founder and has been CEO of KMC coal operations at Kunming, China since 1997. He is a trained geologist, specializing in burning and coking coals and coal mining.  Mr. Li received MS and BS degrees in Geology from Kunming University of Science & Technology.

   
Francis Zhang

Francis Zhang, Operations Executive
Mr. Zhang has over 20 years experience in engineering and administration. He received his Masters Degree in engineering in China, studied at the California Institute of Technology, and the University of California at Berkeley for advanced engineering from 1994 to 1998.  Fluent in Cantonese and English, Mr. Zhang is also a professor at Yunnan University of Science & Technology.

   
Rosemary Wang

Rosemary Wang, CPA, Acting CFO
Rosemary is a US CPA, has over 20 years of auditing experience on US GAAP, taxation and Internal Controls of both public and private companies. Currently, Ms Wang is a managing partner of a California based accounting firm. She is energetic, speaks both Mandarin and English, and has extensive knowledge of China. Rosemary is a US Citizen, resides in San Jose, California. Rosemary received MBA degree in Finance and a Master of US Taxation degree from San Jose State University.

Shirley Kiang

Ms. Shirley Kiang, Independent Director
Ms. Kiang spent over two decades as a senior executive for various high-tech firms in Silicon Valley and Asia, providing guidance in corporate governance and financial analysis. Ms. Kiang is a US citizen, speaks three languages, and has close contacts in China and Taiwan. Ms. Kiang holds a degree in psychology and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts. She has been a board member since 1998, and is Chairperson of the Compensation Committee.

   
Joseph Borich

Mr. Joseph J. Borich, Independent Director
Mr. Borich is Executive Director of the Washington State China Relations Council, which represents over 160 American corporations - including Boeing, Microsoft, and other Fortune 500 companies - with interests or holdings in China. Mr. Borich was the American Consul General to Shanghai in the 1990s, and has held a number of positions within the US State Department. He serves as Chairperson of L&L's Nomination Committee.

   
Ian Robinson

Mr. Ian Robinson CPA, Independent Director
Mr. Robinson a former partner at Ernst & Young, is a Chairman of L&L Audit Committee and member of the Audit Committee. Ian serves as Board Member of both US and Hong Kong public listed companies, has over forty years' experience in auditing and public reporting. He is a Fellow of the CPA Society of Australia and Hong Kong. Mr. Robinson travels frequently between the US and Hong Kong.

   
Dennis Bracy

Mr. Dennis Bracy, Independent Director
Mr. Bracy is the CEO of the US-China Clean Energy Forum and Chair of the Washington State China Relations Council. A former advisor to executives, Senators, Governors and other public officials, he is considered a leading energy strategist. His clients have included the US Department of Energy, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Boeing, Microsoft, and Demand Energy Networks. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Louis.  

   
Robert Lee

Robert Lee, Director
Robert fluent in Mandarin and English, involves in L&L corporate strategic planning and due diligence. Mr. Lee, a leader, has a strong operational and engineering background. He provides stewardship and vision to the management team. Robert studied engineering and mathematics at Michigan State University, is a US citizen. Robert is associated with Michigan state government, resides in Lansing, Michigan

Levy is CEO of Board Advisory, a firm that assists public companies with corporate governance, compliance, ethics, financial reporting and financial strategies.  Mr. Levy is a recognized corporate governance and financial reporting expert with 30 years of progressive financial, accounting and business experience, including having served as CFO of both public and private companies for over 13 years. 

   
Arthur Chen

Dr. Arthur Chen Ph.D, Technical Advisor
Dr. Arthur Chen received his engineering degrees from MIT (Ph.D, M.S. and B.S.) and is a visiting lecturer at the school.  Previously a Senior Executive at General Electric's Corporate R&D Center, Dr. Chen was also a Board Member appointed by the Washington State Governor for the Washington State Technology Center, as well as Commissioner of  the New York State Business Development Commission.

   
Bud Saxberg

Dr. Bud Saxberg, Ph.D., Business Advisor
A professor at the  University of Washington, Dr. Saxberg is an expert in business leadership development.  Dr. Saxberg advises Boeing and Rolls Royce over a 15-year period, and frequently consults corporate executives regarding local and international business developments. Dr. Saxburg studied at Cornell University and earned his PhD in management from the University of Illinois at Champaign.

Mr. Sun was a member of National Advisory Council of the United States Small Business Administration (SBA), and Chairman and CEO of China Harbor of Seattle. Mr. Sun is an energetic business leader and a successful investor in restaurants and real estate in the US. He is also a founding member of the Mill Creek Country Club.

   
Omar Lee

Omar Lee, Advisor
An active member of the banking community, Mr. Lee currently sits on the board of Regal Financial Bank and advises several others.  Also an accomplished real estate developer, Lee is the owner of the Great Wall
Shopping Mall in Seattle. He speaks three languages and travels frequently to China. Omar received his BA from the University of Southern California and his MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles.

   
Barbara Johnston

Dr. Johnston is an experienced corporate financial analyst with years of leadership in corporate research.  Barbara received her CFA designation in 2004.  She earned her BSc Degree from University of Washington, and her Doctorate at Washington State University.
