Image Sensing Systems, Inc. develops and markets software-based computer enabled detection products and solutions for the intelligent transportation systems industry, and adjacent security and law enforcement markets. The company operates through three segments: Intersection, Highway, and License Plate Recognition (LPR). It develops and markets video and radar image processing products for use in traffic, security, police, and parking applications, such as intersection control, highway, bridge and tunnel traffic management, venue security, entry control, license plate recognition, and traffic data collection. The company offers various vehicle and traffic detection products, such as Autoscope video systems and radar systems that convert sensory input collected by video cameras and radar units into vehicle detection and traffic data used to operate, monitor, and improve the efficiency of roadway infrastructure; Autoscope LPR systems, which use video sensors in the visible and infrared spectrums to read license or number plates for traffic data, security, police, and parking applications; and hybrid Autoscope Duo product that provides accuracy in all weather conditions. It also offers CitySync rapid plate recognition technology, which reads a license plate and uses various methods for optical character recognition and plate finding for each plate read.
